Flatwork Ironer

Flatwork Ironer

Flatwork ironers are designed to iron exclusively flatwork linen such as table cloths, bed sheets, pillow cases, napkins, etc. but not clothes.

Cylinder-heated ironers are suitable for lower volume production. They can be front return instead of pass-through which saves space and allows one-person operation. They are also able to handle delicate fabrics (silk, satin, organza). Smaller diameter cylinder-heated ironers are simple ironers which require the linen to be processed in a tumble dryer first to reduce the humidity content before treating the linen. Larger diameter cylinder-heated ironers have drying capability which allows them to treat linen straight out from a high-spin washer extractor.

Chest-heated ironers with their larger roller diameter are more suited to high volume production (e.g. over 150 bed sheets per hour). They have drying capability which allows them to treat linen straight out from a high-spin washer extractor.
